Fruit Kuchen

The cottage over the long weekend was awesome! It was hot, fun filled, active, relaxing, and there was tons of totally scrumptious food – compliments of Mom Xtine. I could not get enough of this pie but managed to limit myself to one slice a day. It turns out, the recipe is far to simple for the taste. You can definitely make this at home. It is a tried and true recipe passed down for generations.

Pie crust has only 4 ingredients

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 tbs sugar (mix the flour and sugar first)
  • 1/2 cup cold butter – cut into flour mixture
  • 2 tbs vinegar (can even use balsamic) – mix into dough

Press dough in a pie pan

  • Slice fruit of your choice (we had strawberries, but peaches would work well too). Place in fan shape on crust

Filling

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • 1 tbs vanilla

Mix the filling together and pour onto crust

Bake at 325 for about 30 minutes. Serve this to friends and you will impress =)
