Fruit on the BBQ

It’s still warm out so fire up the BBQ! Make your meal then toss on your fruit for dessert. This sweet treat is colourful and can be used as a snack any time of the day. Pick and choose your fruit based on what’s in season.

I added yellow pepper for some crunch, but you could swap that for apple slices or kiwi. Chop your fruit into chunks about the same size.  While you are chopping the fruit, soak the skewers in water to prevent them from burning on the grill.

  • pineapple
  • strawberry
  • mango
  • yellow pepper
  • grapes

Put each ingredient on the wooden skewers until you have a fully loaded fruit baton. Place directly on the grill until seared and serve immediately…. or eat em cold later. For added sweetness you could brush them with maple syrup first.
